I love your shift kit! my engine runs so good all the time as I am able to cruise at lower rpms! Your first gear set-up is equal to a single speed bike with like a 48 tooth and second is like a 39 tooth single speed - third is like a 22tooth. I can go 50mph all day and my engine is barely under a load... And my bike actually weighs in at 180lbs with full tank and me at 282lbs your transmission system takes it like it's nothing! - Craig E.

FIRST GEAR - In 1st gear, throttle up to around 20 mph or so then, remove hand from throttle and simply click stick shift forward into...
SECOND GEAR - Operates very close to the same gear ratio of our standard Motorized Stingray Kit with a 38 Tooth [single speed] Rear Drive gear... "Rev"/ the throttle up to around 32 mph in 2nd then, reach back and drop it into 3rd! CLUTCH IS NOT USED FOR SHIFTING w/ this system.
THIRD GEAR = OVERDRIVE! - 3rd gear is 133% of 2nd gear which is a 33% increase of your TOP END! This means you can cruise = fast & smooth with the engine running at lower rpms! Using my Kit #5 and #6 have reached 50+ mph [after motor break-in].
NOTE: The transmission system does not allow for 'Bump starting' [pedaling then, drop the clutch to start it] does not work with this transmission system. Watch video "kickstarting is very easy to do => see video below... or, I USUALLY do the ROLLING START.
ROLLING START : We have a technique for pedal starting your bike after trans system was installed. Pedal bike in 3rd, stop pedaling (drop ) shifter into first - then release clutch lever and
"KICK" to start - while "ROLLING"... simple, easy.

IDENTIFY THESE ITEMS IN PHOTO ABOVE...
1.) STINGRAY SPECIFIC JACKSHAFT 'COMPONENT' -The Motor Drives LEFT SIDE gear on jackshaft which turns the shaft & gears on the right side.
The INSIDE RIGHT gear drives the 3 speed REAR Hub...
The outside gear RIGHT SIDE is a freewheel connected to the bicycle crank.
Our Transmission gives you (both) a THREE (3) speed bicycle and when you release the clutch, a THREE (3) speed motorized PedalChopper!
2.) PRECISION MACHINED STINGRAY SPECIFIC MOTOR MOUNT. Chain Alignment is everything on a "Kit" like this. Our Stingray Specific Motor Mount is not included in this transmission "kit" - it is sold seperately. OUR 'Jackshaft Component' is designed to line up perfectly with our Machined Mount. However, if you plan to keep your existing [OFFSET] mount - I always send additional spacer/washers to allow you to achieve proper motor chain/gear alignment.
3.) STOCK CRANK HAS TO BE REPLACED - Choose Black or Silver Chain Ring and Black or Silver Crank arm set. Cranks are Aluminum Alloy - they will not rust. It is necessary to offset the Bicycle Sprocket to use this system. A Crank removal tool is included with kit. STOCK Chainguard can be retro-fitted using spacers - if wanted. I typically engineer a chainguard from flexible alum. stock from hardware store [see photo top right - black & silver bike].
4.) YOUR CHOICE; HANDLEBAR MOUNTED "THUMB" SHIFTER...
or 3 SPEED "SUICIDE" SHIFTER / INDEXER / Machined CNC MOUNT.
4.) REAR HUB - 3 SPEED SUPER WIDE - STURMEY ARCHER HUB.
5.) HAND BUILT 20 X 4.25 WHEEL. - Your Choice Black or Silver Rim... Black or Silver Spokes.
6.) REAR BRAKE - Complete Disc Brake System including our [NO WELD] caliper mount. And a Specially Engineered "splitter" Brake Cable allows incorporation of stock "V" brake. REAR "V" Brake w/NEW Brake Shoes also included with Kit.
7.) CLUTCH ACTUATOR COVER & DRIVE CHAIN TENSIONER - Optional, basically prevents you from ever having to move the motor forward to compensate for eventual stretching of drive chain. Tensioner does not seem to be needed on OCC builds as chain is short and stretches little..

It is possible to use our component to send the chain over to right side and run on your stock [single speed wheel] Our Jackshaft component is Schwinn Stingray & Spoiler "specific" as it is designed to mount firmly onto the [unique] oval shaped Lower Frame Tubes of these bicycles. Depending on how you engineer your project - you will likely also need to replace your crank set with our "offset" cranks for operation & alignment of the 2 right side chains.
